About Us

The Ishinomaki Disaster Recovery Assistance Council Inc. (IDRAC) is the network organization, coordinating the NPO/NGOs as well as specialist volunteers, such as doctors and hairstylists, in Ishinomaki to conduct smooth and efficient relief activity.

Immediately after the disaster, the first NPO/NGO  Assistance Network Conference was held on March 20th to organize the emergency disaster relief activities. Since then we hold a daily council meeting to enhance information sharing among the participant organizations.

Now, the number of registered organizations has surpassed 300 and 11 program committees have been set up. Also, more than 400 group volunteers and 600 to 800 individual volunteers are working everyday in Ishinomaki, with food distribution, for example, providing 2,000 to 6,000 servings everday.
