Ishinomaki Disaster Assistance Council Inc.(IDRAC) was established on 13th May, 2011, in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11th, 2011.
IDRAC took over the work of the
Ishinomaki NPO/NGO Assistance Network Conference established in the Ishinomaki Senshu University, with members of the Ishinomaki Junior Chamber International as a center.
IDRAC tightly cooperates with the
Ishinomaki Disaster Volunteer Center, which is run by the Ishinomaki City Social Welfare Counciland dispatches individual volunteers to places of the citizens' needs.

11 program committees have been set up in the IDRAC for each field of activity. The IDRAC coordinates those committees as well as the organizations within each committee to carry out various relief activities in Ishinomaki.
